I love being a Waukesha Baby Photographer and Fiona & Kerri were such a dream on this summer night! Stay tuned to see one of my favorite motherhood sessions yet!
I met Fiona and Kerri in Waukesha, WI for their motherhood session. THIS motherhood session, y’all! It was a whirlwind! Literally. I was scheduled to photograph Kerri and her beautiful 3 month old baby girl, Fiona at this beautiful location, but the day of the session, the weather forecast was looking quite dicey. It seemed like a 50-50 shot. I was sure that if we showed up for their session we would be rained on the whole time. If we decided to reschedule, we would likely get the most beautiful summer golden hour ever and I would be crushed to have missed out on it. Nevertheless, in a last minute decision, Kerri and I decided to take the risk and show up!
As we got out of our cars, the sky was turning all sorts of colors with big dark billowing clouds above us. However, on the other side, there were beautiful blue skies. We took maybe a handful of shots (see the first three), and had to RUN back to our cars as the downpour started! We waited it out for a bit in our cars and sure enough, the clouds parted and the sun began to peak through!
Finally, we were able to finish the session with some of the most beautiful post-rainstorm light I’ve ever photographed in! We got so many unique and gorgeous photos. Some were in the dramatic skies, while others you can actually see the rain coming down on us, and then of course, there’s those beautiful glowy sun-drenched images too! There is no way more perfect symbolism to tell the story of motherhood with imagery.
It was an honor photographing Kerri and Fiona as their start their journey was a family. Now without further ado, please enjoy some of my favorite memories from this Waukesha motherhood session.
