What a sweet Waukesha family session this was! Being a Waukesha Family Photographer is the best job ever!
I met the beautiful Peterson Family at Retzer Nature Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin for a family session. It was a special occasion for them; their sweet baby Harper was turning 6 months! And man, she was such a cutie! She had the longest eye lashes and the sweetest smile!
We lucked out that evening with the weather and were able to shoot in the beautiful last hour before sunset. I love shooting in golden hour light. It’s so dreamy! But this time of night can be a little tricky with little ones in the summer if they aren’t used to staying up that late. Little Harper did fantastic! Even though it was quite warm on this summer night for their photo session, we made the best of it and they played and snuggled with baby Harper while I captured their beautiful story.
There are so many beautiful photo locations at Retzer that it was hard to decide where we should take advantage of. But with the golden hour light, I really wanted to capture some of that dreamy light! So we decided to use both the walking trail as well as the gorgeous wooded pine tree area.
I always adore taking family photos with little ones; and Harper was the perfect age! She could sit up confidently, could stand with assistance, gave lots of big smiles and wasn’t quite old enough to run off… yet! 😉 It was an honor to capture these precious moments of Harper for the Peterson-Wanie family and I am looking forward to capturing more for them in the future!
Enjoy some of my favorites from their gorgeous family session in Waukesha and leave them some love in the comments below! 🙂
