Photography Pricing Calculator:
Hi there! I’m Talia, and I am so glad you’re here! I am a newborn, family and motherhood photographer based in Wisconsin. I also teach photographers who are ready to start booking four figure dream clients so they can stop shooting every night and weekend and run a profitable business. SO excited to share some tips and my Photography Pricing Calculator with you!
I remember when I finally had gained confidence in my work and felt like I knew how to make beautiful photos, but felt completely clueless as to how to run a profitable business. I was so busy hustling and shooting for pennies that I found myself missing out on family time, but was nervous to raise my prices, and wasn’t sure if anyone would hire me if I charged more. I could barely balance it all and at the time, didn’t even fully realize how little I was taking home after my expenses.
Since raising my prices and making some fundamental changes to my business, I have been able to make a full time income, consistently booking four figure dream clients, while gaining back my family life. I can’t wait to help you do the same!
Now, let’s get to the photography pricing calculator you came here for!
KNOW YOUR NUMBERS
Part of running a profitable business is having a strong grasp on what it costs you to run your business. From gear, to packaging, to cost of goods, you need to really know your numbers so you can price yourself in a way that will allow you to cover all of your costs, and make a profit. You can use a free online cost calculator, or you can use the worksheet I’ve provided on the next page to get started in your cost analysis.
Once you know your costs (aka- what you need to bring in to break even), you’ll want to work backwards to plan your pricing! A few questions to consider first:
How many sessions would you like to shoot per month?
How much would you like to gross in a year?
